Jamie & Carey got engaged – Barrie, ON

by Ryan Rowell

It always surprises me when I hear about the kids who were born in 1989 and 1990 and how they are now old enough to go to bars, and how they are now adults. Ryan has a younger sister who was born in 1993 and turned 16 this year and is practically driving. It blows my mind.  When I was 16 my best friend was Lindsay, we skated together at Mariposa, and we both had little sisters born in 1987.

I can’t say I was shocked when Jamie (Lindsay’s little sister) called us to tell us the news, that her boyfriend Carey had proposed. We weren’t shocked because Carey called us 5 months earlier trying to book a couples photo session with us for him and Jamie. Then he cancelled because he wanted to wait until he gave her the ring. It was very hard for me to keep a secret like that for months.

Finally Carey proposed, and 2 days later we got a few excited phone calls to book their engagement photos.  We have never met a more excited groom to be! We love it when our clients are excited, and why shouldn’t he be, he’s getting married to an awesome girl. We always tell our couples to choose a location that means something to them, and for the first half of the shoot we went to Carey’s grandma’s house. There is a cute sign in front of the house that says “The Campbells” since Jamie & Carey will soon be Mr. & Mrs. We all thought it was appropriate.

So introducing, for the first time on this blog (hopefully not the last) the future Mr. & Mrs. Campbell!
