Kevin Lam - Very well said. You nailed it exactly. Engagement photos should be about who the couple is at this point in their lives.

Paul Koziorowski - Couldn’t say it better myself. Well written guys. I love engagement sessions and feel that they allow me to connect closer with the couple. It’s not just a sales meeting and then the wedding. It’s more than that. We establish a connection so when it comes time for the wedding they are more relaxed and comfortable with me. Cheers.

Quinntyne Brown - This article is speaking to photographers who attempt to stage elaborate e-sessions that don’t make sense for the client. If you are not that photographer, you should not be offended.

This article is also speaking to customers that hire these photographers. Customers should avoid photographers that want to stage fake scenarios that make no sense in the e-ssession. “say no thanks to the clichés”. Instead customers should look for a photographer that wants to take photos that make sense for them.

I like the article because everyone needs a light reminder to keep it real. Keep it real with yourself and the client.
