The snow has finally arrived, and at first I thought that it was way too early, but I woke up 2 days ago and realized that it is pretty much mid-November, we have been working so much that we have finally lost track of time. Ryan and I really have to get cracking on our new plans for 2009, and boy do we have a ton of them. But first, before we start sharing all of our fun and exciting plans for the new year, a small story must be told.
2 nights ago Ryan and I were watching a movie and noticed that the snow was falling, and starting to pile up on the front porch, so we went outside to take in the fresh snow fall. To our surprise our back yard tree was in our driveway, just inches from our car!
The snow had become too heavy for our old tree and split it in 2, half still standing and half taking up residence in our backyard and driveway. No damage to our car was done, but we have yet to see what the garage looks like underneath it all.
We like to think, as city dwellers, that we have a fairly large yard. But at the moment we don’t even have one, and we can’t even see the garage at all!
So, like the crazy, obsessed facebookers we are we both posted our news online, and that morning we got a call from the newspaper, The Barrie Examiner, asking if they could take a shot for the paper because they saw our status on facebook.
Then today I woke up, and walked to the corner store, and there I was, Front page news, me and my tree.
I am sure it was a slow news day in the city of Barrie, but still, can you believe how fast the response was from facebook, less than 12 hours from the time we posted. We love Facebook! its is an excellent marketing tool.
