Just before the new year, Rivka & Jon’s Toronto wedding took place at Arta in the Historic Toronto Distillery District, with a reception following at Archeo Restaurant just a short walk away. Over the years we have photographed many weddings in the Distillery District, but to our surprise this was the first one we photographed at these specific locations, and the first one we photographed in the winter. Jon & Rivka were good sports coming outdoors for a few late night portraits. Just after the newlyweds were introduced to their reception guests the party really came alive. Every guest got up to dance the Hora, a traditional Jewish wedding dance. This is by far one of our most favorite wedding traditions of all cultures. It is the best and fastest way to bring all guests from both sides of the family together. In our opinion more cultures should adopt this high energy tradition. It is definitely fun to be a photographer during the Hora!
This Toronto Distillery District wedding was lovely. It was elegant, calm, and understated . Full of love, amazing food and great stories during the speeches. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph, and the perfect way to end our amazing 2013 year.
Congratulations Jon & Rivka! Thank you for choosing us to document your special day.
Cheers
