Last year we had the pleasure of photographing an amazing little family, our dear friends the Darlingtons. This may be your first time seeing them on our blog, but it is most definitely not the first time we have mentioned this amazing team. Melanie & Paul Darlington own Darlington Studios, a photo and video company that we often get to work with at weddings. Their wedding cinematography & imagery is timeless and beautiful. But where these 2 really shine is in their role as parents. These images below are just a blip, in a single day in the life of a family. But what they show and represent is the culmination of all the amazing times and experience they have had as a family. Having photographs of the moments in between life’s big moments is so very important. We know that we as professional photographers cannot be there to capture every big moment in your families growth, that is what your iphones are all for 🙂 But if you let us, we will capture the character and love of your family.
We offer 30 minute photo sessions, because it doesn’t take long to capture love. If you as a family come show up to your photo session with open minds, open schedules, and open hearts you will see beautiful images. Every year we encourage families to come back and update their portraits not only to document growth but to celebrate life together. Last year we photographed a family celebrating a child in remission, a family celebrating a child going off to university, and a few families told us they were celebrating mothers day and it was a big deal because the kids promised to get along for 30 minutes while we shoot photos. So whatever your milestones, big or small, let’s celebrate them in photographs.
It was a real treat to photograph The Darlington family, and even though they have a bunch of great family photos at home, it was so nice to watch them NOT pick up a camera this time.
