A few month back we blogged about our adventures in Scotland, where we photographed Tara & Ryan traveling through the the Scottish Highlands. On the last few days of the trip we spent time in England, near Northamptonshire where we photographed Tara & Ryan’s family portraits at Castle Ashby and their couples photos at Stowe. Walking through these perfectly manicured gardens was like living in a Jane Austen novel. It didn’t matter what I wore I was going to feel underdressed, because gardens like these deserve regency gowns, gloves and straw bonnets. Any one of her novels could have easily taken place on the 10,000 acre estate at Castle Ashby. Even Queen Elizabeth 1st stayed at the castle in 1605. The property and castle are well over 400 years old and they still host weddings and events. This place is truly a dreamy wedding venue.
Stowe was the 2nd location we photographed. It is so lovely. With many walking paths, cute signs, bridges, Japanese & English gardens, a stone grotto and of course the school. Stowe is a full functional middle school on the National Trust property of England. Imagine an extremely fancy school in one of Ontario’s provincial parks. The drive way up to Stowe is very long, I would say that you can see the property from at least 1/2 a kilometre away. I should have taken a photo of my own, but I was so in awe of the site, so here is a photo of the drive way I found online. Both locations were so magical, I could photograph them for years. It also helps that Tara & Ryan looked perfect in their grey wool jackets and their matching black, white and grey dogs at Castle Ashby. Later on Tara wore one of my favourite Ted Baker dresses, and a pair of bright pink heels for her Stowe couples photo shoot. We had so much fun photographing Tara & Ryan’s family and couples photo sessions. So without further adieu, please sit back and enjoy these lovely family and couples photos from the gorgeous English countryside. *Note: These photos are best viewed while sipping Earl Grey and nibbling on jam covered scones. Do enjoy!
Thank you to Tara & Ryan for introducing us to their little pieces of heaven.
Cheers
& Ryan
