In the last days of summer we visited a new spot in Muskoka we had never been to before. Kayla & Kevin invited us to Kevin’s family cottage for their Muskoka pre-wedding engagement session. Located in Port Sydney, Ontario; this very spot would be where Kayla and Kevin would tie the knot come next year. Over looking Mary Lake and Forest Island, guests (all 175+) of them will crowd around the dock for a wedding ceremony. Just behind them is the site of Hilarity Hall. An relatively unknown Muskoka historical site which was once the “centre of arts and culture in Muskoka” in the 1880’s and 90’s. I actually found an article about Hilarity Hall that talks about the family who built the original building, you can check it out here. For this pre-wedding engagement session we mainly stuck to the surrounding areas of the property, Hilarity Hall is an old, old building that needs a little TLC before the wedding. Stay tuned for photos to come next summer from Kayla & Kevin’s wedding.
Its quite obvious why anyone would want to spend their summer days and nights there, Muskoka is a beauty and she pulls us all in with her amazing sunsets, and her crystal clear lakes. Kevin & Kayla drive up from Ottawa nearly every weekend in summer. Muskoka means so much to so many people, and this past summer Kayla and Kevin made a few new memories there. We are so happy to share with you all this gorgeous Muskoka pre-wedding Engagement session.
Thank you to Kayla & Kevin for being so wonderful to work with and for showing us around Hilarity Hall. We cannot wait for your wedding!
Cheers
& Ryan
