Today we bring you a lovely Muskoka cottage wedding. Actually this was more than just your average lakeside event in Muskoka, this wedding had everything: a vintage steamship for the ceremony and cocktail reception, 1920’s theme, lounge singer and jazz band, a piƱata for the kids, a mariachi band to lead the guests into the reception, more adorable dogs than you can handle, bridesmaids that looked like they walked off the set of The Great Gatsby, a wild dance party, and an epic fireworks display. Actually the fireworks display was so awesome I heard from some locals that people were calling up the local hotels and resorts to find out if they had missed out on a holiday celebration. But even more so, this wedding had a great group of people. Jacqueline & Zack were married on the last day of August this summer at Zack’s family cottage. A cottage built in the 1920’s that inspired Jacqueline to create that time period as her wedding theme. Guests were dressed in outfits inspired by the era.
The ceremony and cocktail reception were held on the Wenonah II steam ship which picked up guests at the llanlar cottage dock and near by Windermere House and for a few hours toured Lake Rosseau as family and friend drank champagne and listened the the romantic sounds of the jazz band play. Dry eyes were hard to find as actress & singer Elizabeth Shapiro sang one of Jacqueline and Zack’s favourite songs.
After the boat ride, as a tribute to Jacqueline’s Mexican heritage, guests were ushered by a Mariachi band along the lakeside pathway to the reception tent. AĀ piƱata hung from a tree at the end of the path and lasted for only minutes as the kids tore it apart to get the treasures inside. Dinner was an elegant affair, with plates designed by the bride, who is aĀ foodie at heart. Not too long after dinner did the dancing start, and lasted well into the night, with only a temporary break to watch a stunning fireworks display. The perfect ending to a fantastic day in Muskoka.
Congratulations to Jacqueline & Zack! Thank you for choosing us as your photography team.
Cheers
& Ryan
