We have been working on this post all week. It takes a lot of time and thought to craft a wedding blog post, its more than just featuring your best work, and uploading a few photos; theres telling a story, showing emotion beautifully, and this post has been a labour of love. Our friends Allison & Chris are not only understanding of the work that goes into wedding photography (because they both share our passion and make a life out of capturing moments for others) but they are patient and willing to experiment with our craft. Maybe you remember their Niagara engagement session which was also featured on one of our favorite blogs Wedding Opera. It was a crazy fun two day adventure, where we photographed these two lovers all over the Niagara strip, told a made up story that involved a casino, a fake wedding and Elvis impersonator and an iHop. It was some of the most fun we have had shooting, and when it came to the wedding we knew we had to create something equally amazing but vastly different. This time we wanted to tell the real story, one that is deeply rooted in family values, rock solid relationships and a calmness that highly contrasts the engagement session images. The images in this post are classical, timeless and emotional. We are extremely proud of them.
While it is very difficult to tell the love story of a couple in a single day, there is something you all should know as you look through these images, Chris and Allison are romantics, their values are traditional, and their wedding is truly an extension of their relationship; made of up elegant simplistic details, family heirlooms, and in their hometown, 5 minutes from their home. The guest list was short enough for them to take the time to chat with each guest, and long enough to fill a dance floor. Their ceremony was private and personal, and their vendors were local. Allison couldn’t say two words in any speech she made that day without crying happy tears and Chris never wiped the smile off his face. It was nothing short of a perfect day. It was our absolute pleasure, and honour to be apart of it.
Thank you for choosing us to capture your amazing moments, as a photographer its an emotional experience to observe days like these over and over again, and to be there alongside the two of you on this day really meant a lot to us. But we’re glad its over because its hard not to shed a few tears when we see your photos and relive YOUR wedding day over again. We love you both!
Congratulations Vetters!
