Ryan and I have known Richard Roth of Rothphoto.ca for years. He and Ryan met at Zehrs Portrait studio over 7 years ago in Barrie when they were first starting out. Actually Richard photographed a really lame photo of my sister and I sitting on Styrofoam mushrooms in front of a magical forest background. We gave that photo to my parents on their anniversary. That was a long time ago and Richard says he doesn’t remember taking a photo that ridiculous, but he did. That was before I even met Ryan. The 3 of us have been friends for years, Richard even lives down the street from us now. We are really lucky to have him. Thanks for helping us out Richard.
We knew we would be cutting it really close getting home on the evening of the 19th of August from Iceland and then driving from Barrie to Kingston for the 21st. So we asked Richard if he would come and help us out at Cara & Hugo’s Kingston wedding. The wedding was supposed to be on the beautiful balcony of the Kingston Military Base over looking the water, and for about 5 minutes it was. Cara and her dad were literally one step away from coming out the door when the rain started to pour down. The guests all started running inside the hall. With no chairs or aisle set up, Cara and Hugo were married with all their closest friends and family gathered casually around them and all over the room. It was the most intimate and candid ceremony we have photographed in a really long time. The officiant was so theatrical, he spoke to everyone in the crowd, and even involved them in the ceremony. We absolutely love these photos.
Thanks Cara & Hugo for having us as a part of your wedding day, and the bridal party for being so awesome!
Cheers
& Ryan
The officiant asked who gives these two to be married…..
…and the entire crowd yelled “We Do!”
Hugo & his Groomsmen rocked the first half of the reception.
