It has been a very busy summer photographing weddings and families in Muskoka. We feel so blessed to have the chance to photograph amazing people in some of Canada’s most beautiful locations. Muskoka really does come in at the top of that list.  Its been fun exploring new areas of Muskoka, and this summer alone we have photographed families and couples at numerous lakes, just to name a few, Lakes Muskoka, Joseph, Skeleton, Oxtongue, and Rosseau. We have noticed a real shift in the style of family portraits over the last few years, especially in Muskoka. Families are looking for fun, casual photos just hanging out at the cottage, sort of a day in the life of their families. We looooove this idea! So we have blended the idea of family portraits and the journalistic day in the life idea and the results have been so fun! From beer pong playoffs, bbq’s, and giant group photos of the entire family jumping off the dock into the lake. This style of photography really showcases the best of summer for most  families. We totally understand why you all are okay with the 2 hours of traffic on a Friday evening from Toronto to Muskoka in the summer months. One hour relaxing at the cottage is so much better than 1 whole day of relaxing in the city.

This lovely Muskoka family is no stranger to the Lake of Bays area, and you might remember a few of them from another Muskoka Family photo session we shot this past winter. We had so much fun photographing you all and we hope to have the chance to photograph you again soon. Thank you for having us to your perfect cottage oasis.
