We have started a new tradition at Rowell Photography, to photograph one couple every year on Canada Day. The idea is to take pre-wedding engagement portraits with a backdrop of fireworks. This year we decided to take it a step further and choose a Canadiana theme for the pre-wedding engagement shoot. We bought a Hudson’s Bay wool blanket from The Bay, borrowed a boat from the Barrie Rowing Club, and had Kristine and Alan just laze around while the sun set over the city of Barrie.During the summer in Barrie there is no better place to be than on the water.
These pre-wedding engagement photos turned out so much better than we could have ever imagined. They are romantic, relaxed and very much Kristine and Alan. We will be photographing their wedding in August at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood.
Thank you for Kristine and Alan who came out to spend Canada Day with us drinking wine on the beach and posing against this dreamy sky for us. Thank you to Jurgen at the Barrie Rowing Club for lending us the boat, and a huge thank you to Luca Ragogna of PicFoundry  for rowing me in the boat from Minets Point beach to Southshore. We were the only boat paddling in the middle of the night, against the waves from at least 30 motorized boats making waves that night. Thank you!
We hope you all enjoy these images. Happy 144 Canada!!
& Ryan
