Three years ago Ryan and I were photographing an awesome wedding at the Barrie Country Club, when an extremely enthusiastic girl approached us. Jillian, she was raving about our work and how our photography is exactly the type of photography she loves and wants for her wedding. She already knew that she wanted it at the Barrie Country Club and that the engagement photos had to be in Barrie, the city she loves so much. Ryan and I, in the midst of the reception were floored at how excited she was to be chatting with us about her wedding, so like any normal person, I asked “When’s the big day?” and to our surprise she replied “Oh I’m not even engaged! But when I do, you guys are the photographers for sure!”. Jillian and her then boyfriend Derek proceeded to out dance everyone at this wedding, and cheered the loudest for the newlyweds. They even showed up on the Barrie Country Club Wedding blog post.  Ryan and I both said that no matter what we have to photograph this awesome couple.
So not too far into the future Jillian added us on facebook and we chatted often, and then one day she formally inquired about her wedding and had set a date. We were thrilled, these two were finally engaged. Well at least we thought. We met, we planned, they booked their winter wedding photography with us for 2015 and scheduled an engagement session. Literally the day before the engagement session, on a little trip up north, Derek proposed to Jillian. Never have we had a happier couple to photograph. So the take away from this little story is, book the vendors you love as soon as you can, and let the rest un-furl. There is no reason to do anything in order these days. The love between these two is real, and you can feel it every second you are around them. Their wedding is going to be an emotional one, we can’t wait to be apart of their big day.
