This was by far, one of our most favorite weddings of 2013. Kris & Rebecca’s wedding was a weekend long affair that took place at the one and only Windermere House in Muskoka. They chose a bold, warm and vibrant palette of colors to contrast the cool blue lake and the white exterior of the venue. They were married on the back lawn of Windermere House over looking Lake Rosseau. Once the ceremony was over, guests were ushered down to the docks to board the Wenonah 2 steam ship. Cocktail hour was actually a boat tour! It was the perfect day and guests danced and enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the ships decks.
We love it when couples not only throw a fantastic party for their friends and family, but also want to create an experience that is unforgettable for them. Renting a steamship is not unusual, especially in Muskoka. The Muskoka Fleet of steamships offers a variety of special event services to the public. Not only did Kris & Rebecca create a memorable cocktail reception, but their reception was a blend of amazing music, homemade decor, and personal touches. One of the most unique details they added to their wedding celebration was a cheese table instead of a cake. It was classy, and according to friends of the bride and groom, this was them to a tee. No one knows cheeses like these two lovers do.
There are so many simple ways that you can add a little personal flavour to your wedding to really make it your own. Use social media sites like Pinterest as inspiration and not as a blueprint for your wedding. The more personality you infuse into your wedding day, the more memorable it will be for you and your guests. Kris & Rebecca’s Muskoka wedding is a perfect example of that.
Congratulations to Kris & Rebecca! Thank you for choosing us to photograph your incredibly lovely windermere house wedding.
Cheers
& Ryan
