It is 2014!!! Already, wow does time fly. There is an old adage that claims: “Time flies while you are having fun.” And while that is very true, and unfortunate, over the last year I have come to realize that time just flies. It doesn’t care if you are having a good time or not. Time is completely un-biased, and it doesn’t care if you are having the best moment of your life or the worst, it simply just passes. I have been thinking a lot lately about how I want 2014 to be for us. We have been making goals and putting together projects. Its exciting, fun, and one of my most favourite things to do. Sometimes when I think about my personal goals or the goals I share with Ryan, our future and business, I often get so focused on them that I am just speeding through the days of the week to get to the moment when I can check a goal or task off my list. Its no way to spend time, nor a way to live life. Don’t get me wrong, my complaint is not that I don’t have enough time, or that I am not happy with my life. Simply it has been in the way I have utilized this amazing gift in the past. My biggest goal, for this year and for many years to come is to enjoy moments a little bit more. As a person who has made nearly a 10 year career out of capturing moments for other people, it is very hard to simply enjoy the simple moments day to day. I want to enjoy the journey, and revel at the amazing things that surround me on a daily basis. From the expression on my dogs face when she brings me a toy to play fetch with or the way the sunlight shines through the windows of our house at dusk. Its a tough goal and I am sure that it will take me a lifetime to reach it.
This couple below is Diana & Dimitri. They are engaged to be married and so much in love. During their pre-wedding engagement session it was like they were in their own little romantic comedy and we were watching the movie. They wanted to come to Barrie, Ontario and have photos taken of their winter pre-wedding engagement session by our stunning lakeshore. They flew kites, made mini snowmen and played at Sunnidale Park. We truly believe that the couples who play together, stay together. Congratulations to Diana & Dimitri! Thank you for choosing us to capture these moments, on what looks like a very exciting journey for the two of you.
Cheers to many, many great years to come.
Happy New Year!
& Ryan
